On 30-31 August 2016, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Poland in the Kingdom of Sweden, a large representation of the Polish Cluster of Construction Exporters took part in the official trade mission to Stockholm. The event was dedicated to perspectives and further growth of Polish construction industry on the Swedish market. The head of the trade mission was Ms. Iwona Woicka-Żuławska, PhD – Director of Department of Economic Cooperation of Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Polish Cluster of Construction Exporters was represented by the Vice-President of the Board of PKEB, Mr. Andrzej Czapczuk, PhD, Eng.
During Polish delegation’s visit to Stockholm, representatives of the Cluster and its member companies had a number of meetings with representatives of construction companies and municipal associations and entities on the local market needs for construction services at the moment and in long-term perspective. Our particular attention was drawn to the demand for construction of residential buildings. During the visit, a number of lectures were given on the regulations and conditions of the Swedish construction market in operating, accounting and legal terms. Furthermore, mission participants had the opportunity to take a study visit to one of the largest residential investment projects in Sweden, i.e. the Royal Seaport residential area. The visitors could take a close look at the technological solutions applied on site and assess the quality of construction works on this prestigious investment project in Stockholm.
Excellent organisation of the trade mission by the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as impressive commitment of the Embassy and Consulate of Poland in Stockholm under His Excellency, Ambassador Wiesław Tarko, prove that the idea of “Polish economic diplomacy” finds practical application for Polish companies.
