2nd Economic Forum of Construction and Architecture BUDMA 2018.
Minister of Infrastructure, Jerzy Kwieciński, took part in the opening ceremony of the BUDMA 2018 Fair, and on 30 January 2018, and inaugurated the 2nd Economic Forum of Construction and Architecture.
The invitation of the Ministry was accepted by two foreign delegations who confirmed their participation in the Fair:
the Singapore Delegation, including representatives of Singapore Institute of Building Limited and International Enterprise Singapore, and the Chinese Delegation, representatives of the Ministry of Housing and Urban and Rural Development.
The main areas of interest of the delegation were the export of Polish construction products to domestic markets, prefabrication, wooden structures, as well as door and window joinery.
Polish Cluster of Construction Exporters was represented by Mr. Andrzej Kozłowski, Vice President of the Board, who talked about the activity of the Cluster during the part of the Forum devoted to the discussion on the competitiveness of Polish construction companies and manufacturers of construction products on export markets.
His presentation was followed by a debate on the future of the construction industry, namely, whether the automation of production and export is an opportunity for the ongoing development of Polish construction companies. The debate was attended by representatives of the Building Research Institute, Polish Windows and Doors Association, Eastern Building Cluster, Polish Association of Developer Companies, Polish Association of Construction Industry Employers and the Centre for Market Research and Analysis.
For instance, debate participants talked about whether domestic manufacturers of construction products are prepared for increased demand for their products due to the recent growth of this market in European countries, the availability of financial resources under the new EU perspective as a contribution to the development of automation of production and export, and whether automation of production can improve the quality of services and construction materials.
